"Stunning fishing, great company, wonderful experience ... couldn't have been better ... breathtaking environment, great memories."
Adrian Fellowes, Cambridge
I waxed lyrical after catching (a Taimen) about 20lb .....
"This fish is a brawler, a bruiser, a bouncer, made for an alien landscape... best fly fishing in the world, where complete duffers can catch dozens of the stunning Mongolian Grayling - one of the world's loveliest fish.
Whoppers up to 3lb, the average at more than 1lb. These Grayling jump like trout, their iridescent emerald bodies and golden tails glittering in the sunlight, a breathtaking contrast to the deep blue sky, the yellow of the larch trees, the white of the snow covered peaks."
Keith Elliott, The Independent on Sunday
"Thankyou for everything - absolutely brilliant,"
John Morris, Somerset
"My most incredible angling ambitions fulfilled all at once!"
Mike Reynolds, Southampton

Mongolia - don't you deserve to live the dream? John Bailey will lead this exciting expedition
This is the adventure of a lifetime, a stunning fishing wonderland many of our clients visit again and again.
Waking up to the virgin beauty of a Mongolian dawn.
Breakfast. Plans. Magnificent walks and rides into untamed wilderness. Those colossal pools that you only have to look at and feel your insides wobble! Brilliant blue skies. Golden larches. Grayling so beautiful you can only wonder at them. Trout in their thousands. Then the smash and grab fight of a big taimen. Awesome. Snowstorms coming out of nowhere. The walk back to camp, the smell of the woodburners. Hot showers, feasts in the cabin, a game of cards and hours of cocooned, warm sleep riddled with the dreams of taimen.

"It was the best river, the best fishing, the best week ever. I am so glad I contacted you. Many thanks for your support in setting me up to travel to India on my own. I would like to book for the group trip John is running next year."
David Young, Surrey
"I enjoyed spending time in a remote, unspoiled region. I fulfilled my objectives of catching taimen and enjoyed meeting new people. Excellent advice beforehand. I certainly enjoyed my trip despite or even because of the challenges of setting off on my own. I would like to go back there next year. Thank you again for making all the arrangements and do keep me on your mailing list!,"
Pelham Aldrich-Blake, Herefordshire
"This was the highlight of my life as a fisherman. Many thanks for a superb trip."
John Yates, Nottingham

This extraordinary, wondrously remote, absurdly beautiful camp is unforgettable and the Mongolians are the most warm, kind, generous, fun loving hosts who deeply appreciate the natural world. Eagles, elks, nomads, the reindeer people ... nighttime. Tales of the countryside.
Mongolians singing folk tunes whilst outside the wolves are calling, the frost is falling and the stars spangle the sky. How about a taimen of fifty pounds on fly? What would it be like to share the deep companionship of likeminded anglers, all of whom have caught huge taimen by the end of the trip? Seize the moment and make sure you're on the very next expedition.
Please note that this year's newsletter booking form can be used for your bookings or you can download a form from the website at www.angling-travel.com - early booking is advised for most trips and courses as numbers are limited and we get a lot of repeat business! Just post the booking form to Angling Travel with your 10% deposit payable to Angling Travel Trust Account to reserve your place.
Mongolia - don't you deserve to live the dream? John Bailey will lead this exciting expedition
This is the adventure of a lifetime, a stunning fishing wonderland many of our clients visit again and again.
John has had many brilliant trips to Mongolia
but he came back in October 2002 saying this had been his best ever. As more and
more of the river becomes explored, new taimen holes are being discovered.
And what fish we're talking about. These are monsters! The biggest actually
landed was just over fifty-two pounds but three much bigger fish
were seen.
There were some incredible angling achievements: Chris Parkinson,
son of Philip and Anne at Sportfish landed a 1.30 metre fish on a fly rod.
That would have weighed in at about forty-five pounds! Mick Bay had a rod
snap on him as a fish he described as a submarine came up, looked at him
and simply motored off downriver. Our dear Irish group threatened to empty
the river they were so successful. ("Where would you find wild river fishing like this anywhere else in the world?" Jim Molloy.) And Ian fished his heart out for monsters
which were eventually landed.
Everyone in the group caught at least one big fish, along with hundreds of
lenok trout to ten pounds and thousands of grayling to three pounds.
Camp life continues to be riotous. The Mongolians beat us at cricket on a
regular basis (who doesn't), the food continues to improve and we've even
got warm water showers in a five star wash-house! Never did we expect to
see the day
!
Perhaps best of all, however, is the increased access to
new parts of the river. Batsokh built his famous bridge over the cliff face
to allow us easy access to taimen downriver. There's a rowing boat to take us to the
other side. Horses are an everyday part of the travelling scene. Of course,
many prefer to fish around the camp and do exceedingly well but for the
adventurous there really are new horizons that we didn't dream of a few years
ago.

"I thought the whole expedition was a tremendous success, and I regard myself as having been privileged to have been part of it. The scenery, the fishing, the company, the food and the camp just couldn't have been any better."
Simon Macmillan, Henley
"I cannot see how the fishing could have been bettered. I have been to Mongolia with you twice and still think about it every day. The memories I have will last forever. the trip was excellent value when compared with other options for Mongolia."
James Warbrick-Smith, Cambridge

One of the expeditions is close to being fully booked and for that reason
we're considering a second and that too is beginning to arouse huge interest.
Mongolia is spectacular; it won't be the unexplored, unspoilt wilderness
it is now forever. If you are interested then this truly is the trip of a
lifetime so make it soon.

Our best times are mid June to early July, and then late August through September. June currently has some availability and has consistently shown itself to be the best time to fish on the Delger, although one year (out of the last five that I have fished there) we have had some floods. Last week of August has a higher flood risk than other times. The early booking price for the fishing is £2499 per person, which gives you a full 6 days’ fishing. This is valid until April 9. However we highly recommend you book before that!
For a couple of weeks after spawning the taimen are hungry and aggressive; standby for some spectacular surface action.
