After years of searching for a great trout beat in the Laxá River in the north we finally managed to close the contract for some of the finest trout fishing on the this exceptional river. We know have fishing secured for you on two of the prime beats of the legendary Brown Trout River Laxá in Adaldal. Laxá in Adaldal, as most anglers know, is famous for its salmon fishing, but in addition, Laxá river offers some of the finest Brown Trout fishing in the world today. The Laxá is up in the north of Iceland close to Húsavik. The river is split into three different parts, the upper most part is called the Laxá in Myvatnsveit, the middle part is named Laxá in Laxárdalur and the lowest part of the river below the canyon is called Laxá in Adaldal or better known as the Big Laxá. 2 rods are fished at each beat and the group will rotate so that you can experience the variety. The total length of the two beats is about 5 km, giving the rods plenty of pools to fish The Brown Trout fishing on these two beats is as good as it can get in Iceland. Last summer 1000 brownies were landed from these two beats to 4 rods. The beats are strictly fly only and offer you great fly-fishing on dry flies, nymphs or various streamers. The size of the trout ranges from 1½/2 lbs. to 7 lbs. trophies. A Brownie of as big as 10 lbs. is landed each summer. John is also going out there at the end of May to check everything out once more and ensure everything about this trip is top quality. Voluntary catch and release policy.
