Dear Angling Traveller,
Also can I say that I thoroughly enjoyed the weekend - it did nothing for my work ethic the following week ... ! Again, thanks a million!

Allen Cobbold, Chiswick

Grayling have always proved very popular indeed with Angling Travel's customers: perhaps this is because they are amongst the wildest of British species and tend to inhabit some of our most lovely rivers. We are now offering venues in both Wales and Derbyshire, but these are available on only a few weekends in the year.
Our new river looks an absolute cracker. The hotel is right on the water (again!) and there are at least twelve miles of lightly fished river to go at. Deep pools for a legered worm. Steady glides for float fishing. Dancing shallows for the nymph man. This river really has it all and our preliminary test days seem to suggest that thirty to forty fish per session is not uncommon. And, believe it or not, three to three and a half-pound grayling are always on the cards here.
There were plenty of fish, some weighing over two pounds. It's totally addictive... Bailey is pretty nifty at nailing Grayling

Keith Elliott, The Independent

Once again, we're going for October: there's something about early autumn and grayling, they just seem to go together perfectly. Perhaps that first chill puts the fish in the feeding mood and you'll certainly never see a more beautiful sight in angling than a two-pound grayling lying on a bank of golden leaves. Bliss…but if you want to try it, give us a ring now on 01452 813241

'Everything about the trip far exceeded my expectations…Everyone got along so well and seemed to enjoy it immensely - I am sure that you will see several of them again, myself included. My one comment to improve the trip would perhaps be to include the option of an extra day, as the time went far too quickly!'

Nigel Chapman, Rowlands Castle

'Unbelievable, John, thanks for a superb experience. It was one of the best days of my life - a sublime setting and my heart was in my mouth with the fishing all day - I learned so much too. I'm coming back with a couple of friends next year.'

David Bowles, Shepherd's Bush

'The company this year was great - all friendly and good "crack". One or two could fish a bit as well! John as ever was very enthusiastic, helpful and patient'.

Kerry Jordan, Suffolk

Our priority is to bring you the very best fishing chalkstream England had to offer, on the Itchen and the Test, with the best guidance whilst still making it good value. To get the best beats on the gin clear Test in very beautiful Hampshire countryside takes a lot of stringpulling and patience - All the fishing is privately owned and syndicated. But we have a man who knows! A variety of beats is available-very classic shallow chalk stream tributary and the deep wide middle Test type water, a mixture of slow and fast water. All of it is sight fishing in gin clear water. Fishing is upstream dry fly mainly and some nymph fishing. Mix of wild and stocked brown trout, rainbow trout and grayling. The trout can be up to 5, 6, even 7 pounds. Dates to suit you according to availability. Prices vary, starting at £190 for the day.
